Kyle Crusham
Kyle Crusham is a long time producer and mixer, operating in the music world as well as film and TV. Kyle was also on the Tequila Mockingbird team in Dogstar's prior iteration and continues to do work here today.
Kyle has worked with Paul Simon, Edie Brickell, Charlie Sexton, Ben Harper, Suzanne Santo, plus many more.
Jonah Holt
Jonah Holt is the studio manager and general glue that holds the Dogstar fabric together. Jonah is a musician, instrument technician, avid plant specialist, and canine comfort custodian. Jonah has many years of experience at building and repairing guitars and basses. He looks after all of our stringed instruments and keeps them sounding and playing great. He is also able to do very quick setups and tweaks on demand if necessary for your session.
If you're at the studio at the right time, you might also catch "Barney" (pictured). Barney lovingly refers to Jonah as "daddy guy".
Morgan Honaker
Morgan Honaker, "audio generalist" and Dogstar's primary positive mood-keeper. Morgan is a professional re-recording mixer, studio engineer, and sound designer. She has worked with countless celebrity voice talents, and has been credited on many national and regional TV/film projects. As well as having an uncanny ability to vision board, she also is equipped with the tools to bring those visions into reality.
Morgan has worked with Liminal House, 14th St Studios, Sequence 8 Films, Earthdate, Narriforge and many more.
Chico Jones
Chico Jones is a long time recording engineer, producer, musician, videographer and jack of all trades. Chico has owned and operated his own studio (Ohm Recording), has worked at Estuary Recording, and is now an integral part of our team at Dogstar. From making great records per usual, to helping with construction and remodel/acoustics work, he is also the connective tissue between Austin's music and production world, and we're tremendously happy to have him on our team.
Chico has worked with artists such as The Well, Porcelain, Peelander-Z, The Invincible Czars, COSMS, and many many more.
Drew LeClair
Drew LeClair is the chief engineer and technician at Dogstar (and all around audio nutcase). Drew is a musician, recording engineer, producer, and electronics technician. As well as running his own project studios for 15+ years, Drew co-owned, and was the lead technician at Tapehead Electronics here in Austin. That was before committing to being the full time resident studio rat and analog nerd at Dogstar in 2021.
Drew has worked with artists such as Power Trip, Fugitive, Narrowhead, Hans Gruber and the Die Hards, Dropped Out, Los Kurados and many more.
Adam Mason
Adam Mason is a Recording Engineer, Producer, Sound Designer, and Musician, . Born into a musical family and educated at the Berklee College of Music, Adam’s body of work reflects a wide range of influences and a lifetime spent learning and exploring sound. Adam ran his own studio before taking up residence at Dogstar, and loves making Artists' experiences in the studio productive and fun.
He has worked with many artists and bands including: Spoon, Alejandro Escovedo, Walker Lukens, Zella Day, BRUCE, Riverboat Gamblers, SL Houser, and many more. Sound design clients include Nokia, Nissan and American Express.
Jacqueline Scripps
Jacqueline Scripps is the mother of all that is Dogstar Studios. She is also an avid professional photographer and general entrepreneur. Jacqueline was able to acquire the building we call home from it's previous entity as "Tequila Mockingbird" in 2017. Since then, she has provided the means and ability for us to remake and remold the facility to meet the needs of the modern production world.
